The Bio4Circularity network was represented at the Sino-German Frontiers of Science and Technology Symposium 2026, hosted by the @Humboldt Foundation, which focused on connecting experts from different disciplines on resilience through innovation in systematic preparedness for interconnected crises. Our director, @Dr. Jelena Barbir presented how the Bio4Circularity Network contributes to advancing Europe’s biobased economy, a key point for independence from fossil fuels and thus disaster resilience.

🖇️ Bio4Circularity Network visiting Tongji University: While in Shanghai, Dr. Barbir also had the pleasure of connecting with Prof. Ying Wang from the Sino-Italian College of Engineering and Innovation, connected through our Premium Member Kaunas University of Technology.

⚓️ Further, as Hamburg is the home of our Headquarters, Dr. Barbir had the opportunity to visit and discuss future collaboration with the Hamburg Liaison Office. Hamburg and Shanghai are two major global ports, contributing greatly to the global economy and supply chains. They have been sister cities since 1986.

谢谢! Thank you, China, for the hospitality!
